Happy spring everybody! As the snow melts, the weather warms, and the days get longer, many of us are looking to spend more time outside. In this post, I share some fun spring activities to get you and your kids excited to get outdoors again. 🙂

For Kids and Adults
- Find a sit-spot that you can visit daily or weekly
- Photograph beautiful cherry blossoms (end of March – early May)
- Find a new picnic spot
- Rent a kayak or canoe and explore a lake or river
- Volunteer at a local community garden
- Begin a nature journal
- Prepare a meal using foraged edibles and seasonal ingredients
- Bike to get errands done
- Construct a bug hotel, bird house, or bird feeder
- Camp before peak mosquito and black fly season
- Volunteer to clean up a local park or forest
- Go birdwatching
- Get some friends together and try slacklining
- Stargaze on a warm night
- Curl up in a hammock with a good book
- Hike a peak or a new trail
- Take a foraging class with a local guide
- Make a campfire
- Go geocaching
- Try an outdoor rope course
Fun for Kids
- Put on some rubber boots and splash in the puddles
- Catch the wind with a kite or pinwheel
- Climb a tree
- Build a tree fort
- Make mud pies
- Play in the rain
- Press and preserve flowers
- Search for bugs with a magnifying glass
- Create a scavenger hunt to find
